Graf von Faber Castell Guilloche Writing Instruments
The Guilloche writing instruments made of precious resin are distinguished by a special process. Each one is engraved individually using a method otherwise reserved for jewelry or silver accessories. The barrel is then hand-lacquered and repeatedly polished. The result is a unique and most interesting surface texture. No two writing implements are identical: each is an individual example of the craftsman’s art.
These writing instruments are available in: ballpoint, fountain pen, rollerball and mechanical pencils. Although we may not have every style/size in stock, you can always ask about placing a special order.
For the fountain pen:
- Cartridge/converter system
- handmade 18-carat gold nib, rhodium plated, run in by hand
- Manufacturing process involves over a hundred steps, most of them carried out by hand
- Available nib widths are M (medium), F (fine), with EF (extra fine), B (broad), OM (medium/ left slent) and OB (broad/ left slent) as potential special order items. We typically have fine and medium in most styles and some extra fine nibs.
The special fascination of these writing implements is due to the combination of high-quality rhodinization and a guilloche barrel. Rhodium is a precious metal that provides an extremely rigid and hard-wearing surface and, consequently, perceptible and lasting beauty.
Gift box: The slender chamois-coloured gift box is wood-lined with dark brown wooden ends and is intended for the Intuition, Initio and Guilloche series. The magnetic catch opens elegantly to reveal the high-quality interior with the writing implement contained in a linen bag.
