Iroshizuku Bottled Ink
At Flax, we use Pilot's Iroshizuku line of bottled inks whenever we dip (demonstrate) a pen. We find the ink flows smoothly and the color remains consistent. Although we carry other inks, admittedly, this is our "go-to" line for many reasons.
The name Iroshizuku is a combination of the Japanese words Iro (Coloring), expressing high standards and variation of colors, and Shizuku (Droplet), that embodies the very image of dripping water. Each ink name derives from the expressions of beautiful Japanese natural landscapes and plants, all of which contribute to the depth of each individual hue.
It can be a challenge to discern the subtle differences in color choices without being in our store, where we have a book which shows actual draws from each color we carry at Flax, but we will do whatever we can to assist you if you're unfamiliar with these wonderful inks or are attempting to make a choice online. (Please do not rely on color palettes generated from the website, as these unique formulations will appear different on paper then when looking at a backlit computer screen)
